Zunbara Zuihitsu Chapter 1 "Temptation in Setagaya"

I wanted to do something with this for a long while, and that's translating the entire Zunbara Zuihitsu from the Bella Beaux website. Yamamoto made this essay-type collection of experiences he had done the moment he wrote chapter after chapter. Since many are based on outdated events, the Zuihitsu page nowadays only includes selected stories based on the sensei's past and then-current experiences. To begin this series, I had translated the very first chapter with more to come real soon!

Recording production for Juusan no Maou (Thirteen Devils) was so much fun, and yet it was very interesting.

The karaoke making in its early stage reminded me of an unrelated topic with Masaaki Jinbo-sensei. In fact, Mr. Jinbo had been naturally talking about that same story for a very long time:

Yamamoto: Hello, Mr. Jinbo.

Jinbo: Oh, good day!

Yamamoto: How is your father?

Jinbo: I talked to you the other day that he got cancer, or maybe he was diagnosed with stomach ulcer... Anyways, he's 93 years old and he's still lively, I'm gonna be sick!

I told you he'd said this every time we meet! Yamada-kun, the studio owner and engineer [Nobumasa Yamada] loved this so much the Jinbo impersonators were blooming. We even had fun impersonating [Masahisa] Takeichi, [Masami] Kishimura, [Ikuro] Fujiwara, and [Shiro] Sasaki of Victor, the head director who gladly came to see us. He brought a cake along with Shiho-chan, a promoter.

A small billiard table was set up in Yamada's studio AMP BOX, which I used it to relax. A new apprentice, a 23-year-old lady JALLA who recently took Kame-chan's place, told me she is a professional billiard player.

We ate a variety of bento boxes. Kazuki Ito, the head document chief of the Masayuki Yamamoto Office, had Ken's sauteed pork with curry; Yamada had soup; Kawase-kun ate some nonsensical fried food and I had a refreshing fish.

It was raining the day I brought in and out my two guitars (Ovation and Fender Telecaster). It reminded me of Tracy.

[Aki] Tomato was there too. He showed up with a katsu fillet sandwich on a Meissen [a porcelain ware company] while he was working in an anime studio, smoked 5 sticks of Lark [a cigarette brand], typed on a word processor, then suddenly disappeared. Kame came. Nagata came. Pink Piggies came. [Teiji] Mihata the guitarist was unbelievably cool, JALLA's cheeks flushed bright red with excitement as she unconsciously closed her slit mini skirt on her thighs.

I couldn't wait to meet Iwa-chan in Kobe! I'm gonna take Tomoko [Kawakami] with me, and we'll be featured in Radimenia jack together! Iwa-chan is so wonderful.

I know, there are some good guys in a small area near me, and not bad guys. There are even good ladies as well.

Thank you for all the hard work you've done for me. Kawase-kun, you need to be sterile...
